WHAT IS YOGA?
While there are 100s different types of yoga, YogaSole aims to instruct an accessible combination of breathwork, meditation, and movement in each session. At YogaSole, our intention is to help individuals stretch, strengthen, and relax in a way that honors their individual connection to their mental and physical being. With a history dating back thousands of years, practicing yoga has demonstrated a number of benefits including increasing body awareness, strengthening our mind/body connection, increasing flexibility and balance, and creating relaxation.
Instructor bio:
Dena Levitz received her RYT200 certification in 2019 through Tavoos Garden, based in Siem Reap, Cambodia, studying under the great Yogi Madhav. She aims to help students use yoga as a tool for empowerment, resilience, and liberation and to make the practice available and approachable to all. Dena has a deep appreciation for the physical traditions of asana but also for the other limbs of yoga. Her classes are dynamic, yet playful, rooted in classic hatha and vinyasa and incorporating other modalities as well. Dena has been an instructor with Sputnik Yoga and teaches group classes regularly at YogaSole and Dou Yoga in Brooklyn. In addition, she is a certified children’s yoga and mindfulness teacher through Little Flower Yoga and teaches in after-school programs and at Terrace Fitness.
